Twitter launches enhancements on their search platform. Still not good enough.

Twitter has updated their search engine with some new capabilities. Sadly, it is still not good enough for power users.

Here is what they have delivered today:

The search box would try to autocomplete your query based on popular searches. This works well for popular hashtags and Twitter accounts.

Twitter shows the most relevant Tweets, articles, accounts, images and videos after you have entered your search.

Other enhancements:

Misspellings would be corrected.
Twitter would show related searches.
Results would be shown for real names and the Twitter IDs used by those users.
You can also restrict search results from people you follow on Twitter.

These features are also now available on the official Twitter app for Apple iOS and Google Android.

Twitter still is unable to restrict search results to your own account. Especially tweets that were posted long time ago. Twitter needs to make their tweet archive accessible through their search engine.
