“When can we download all of our tweets?”-@emilybell “Before the end of the year”-@dickc, with a caveat on an engineer’s capability. #ONA12

Twitter CEO Dick Costolo has been quoted as saying that they would let their users download their entire tweets database before the end of the current year.
If this is indeed delivered, it would be a good step taken by the company.
As of now, Twitter provide access to the latest 3200 tweets but through their API. Users have to rely on third party services to extract that data.
A downloadable database of all tweets would enable Twitter users to back up this data and even migrate it to other services in case they decide to leave the platform.
