Twitter showed interest in acquiring Camera+

Facebook recently acquired popular photo sharing service Instagram. It was reported that Twitter had also shown interest in Instagram but looks like Facebook offered a better deal.

New reports are now claiming that Twitter had talks with Tap Tap Tap for a possible acquisition deal for Camera+. Camera+ is also a photo sharing app though is not as popular as Instagram.

Sources say that the deal did not go through because the developers behind the app were not interested in relocating to San Francisco.

Twitter of course already offer the ability to share photos directly from their mobile apps. But users prefer third party apps as they can share photos with multiple social networks in one go.

Twitter Chief Executive Officer Dick Costolo had recently commented that they were sticking with their own strategy and have no plans to buy a photo sharing service to counter Facebook’s acquisition of Instagram.
