Verizon Wireless is likely to offer Windows Phone 8 devices at launch

Online sources are reporting that Verizon Wireless would change their position with respect to Windows Phone platform.

The US based mobile service provider is expected to be one of the launch partners of Windows Phone 8.

Verizon has not shown much interest in WP devices because of the lack of popularity in the market. The last device they launched was HTC Trophy back in May last year.

Things would change with Windows Phone 8 which is a major update from Microsoft. Microsoft is using the same engine as Windows 8 for this platform which is aimed at making development easier for this platform.

WP8 based devices would give Verizon another platform to offer to their customers along with Apple iPhone and Google Android based devices.
