Wal-Mart launches Shopycat on Facebook to help you find gifts for your friends

Wal-Mart Labs has launched their latest product. They call it Shopycat and it is now available as an app on the Facebook platform.

The idea behind this app is to look at the status updates from your friends and discover possible gift items for them.

It uses the technologies acquired through Kosmix. The technology is able to detect positive and negative vibes in updates that mention a particular product or service.

Wal-Mart claims that the app can come handy picking the perfect gift for your favorite friends and relatives this holiday season.
