Wall Street Journal also talking about mapping solution from Apple in iOS 6

We have already read enough about Apple’s plans to launch their own mapping solutions in the next edition of iOS. Now WSJ has added more fuel to the fire.

Apple iOS 6 is expected to ditch Google Maps for Apple’s own platform with extensive support for third party app integration.

Apple has acquired several mapping related companies over the years and they have had enough time to develop something solid enough to replace Google Maps in iOS.

Apple has already been experimenting with third party solutions in their recently launched apps. They used mapping solutions from OpenStreetMap in iPhoto replacing Google Maps.

It would be interesting to see how Google Apple Maps turns out to be especially outside the US and European regions.
