Wal-Mart has announced that they are no longer going to offer Amazon Kindle devices through their stores.
The company said that this is part of their overall merchandising strategy. Amazon of course is a competitor in the retailing market.
Wal-Mart would continue to sell products from Apple and other manufacturers which are not direct rivals to the company.
Amazon Kindle and Amazon Kindle Fire are of course massively popular in the US market.
Amazon claimed recently that their Kindle Fire now has a 22% market share in the US Tablet PC market.
The company said in an internal memo to employees:
We have recently made the business decision to not carry Amazon tablets and eReaders beyond our existing inventory and purchase commitments. This includes all Amazon Kindle models current and recently announced.
