Hewlett Packard apparently wanted 1.2 billion dollars for webOS platform
Online sources are reporting that HP did try to sell off their webOS division but they were expecting a bit too much for it.
Reports say that the company wanted 1.2 billion dollars for it which is around the same they paid for Palm in the first place.
Rumors further claim that they had a meeting with Facebook but nothing came out of it because of the high price tag.
In the end, HP decided to open source the platform. It is pretty interesting as they could have gotten rid of this platform completely if only they had settled for a lower price tag!
