Windows Explorer is now File Explorer in Windows 8?

Online sources are reporting that Microsoft has renamed Windows Explorer as File Explorer in the latest leaked builds of Windows 8.

This change was not delivered as part of the release preview edition.

Windows Explorer has always been about exploring files on your computer so the new name is not really surprising.

Microsoft of course uses Internet Explorer branding for their web browser.
