Microsoft has reached a significant milestone with their Windows Phone Marketplace.

Windows Phone Marketplace is now home to more than 100,000 apps.

It took Windows Phone Marketplace around 20 months to reach this milestone. Google Play Store took around 24 months to cross the 100,000 app mark.

This makes Windows Phone Marketplace the third largest mobile app store in the market today. Apple App Store has more than 600,000 apps. Google Play Store currently has more than 500,000 apps.

Blackberry App World however continues to struggle with less than 100,000 apps even though it is more than 3 years old!
