WishTel launches budget Tablets in India named Ira and Ira Thing
WishTel has launched two budget segment Tablet PCs based on the Android platform in the Indian market.
The models are: Ira and Ira Thing. These are priced in the range of Rs. 4000-5500. These devices are powered with Via chips and are not likely to be very speedy in nature. The company however claims that they support high definition video play.
The company further said that they are very much going to bid for the second generation Aakash Tablet PC. They had lost in the first round when Datawind won the government’s contract.
WishTel said: “We are eagerly waiting for the same, given an opportunity we are getting ready for this project, it is a very ambitious project. Between ourself and Datawind, price for device was competitive, we lost out on deliverables in terms of service support, maintenance, logistics, taxes and other things. For the device, we were lower against Datawind by 10 cents, or 8 cents to be precise.”
