WSJ: Google Drive is coming soon


We have fresh reports out about the much awaited Google Drive.

This cloud storage platform was originally expected to be launched back in 2007 but the company decided to not go ahead.

Launching it now would be perfect considering cloud storage has become very popular in the recent years.

Google has to have a challenger to Microsoft SkyDrive and Apple iCloud which are tightly integrated with Windows Phone and Apple iOS platforms.

Google Drive can feature deep integration with the Android platform. Google already has the core functionality in place.

Google Docs already offer 1GB free storage to all Google account holders. They get the ability to store any type of file. Google just needs to make it more accessible and integrated with various platforms (desktop and mobile).

Google Drive would also take on cloud storage services like Dropbox and Box.
