Yahoo has confirmed that the head of Yahoo Labs Raghavan is leaving the company.

The company said:

Yahoo! thanks Prabhakar Raghavan for his dedication and contributions to Yahoo! for the past 7 years. We wish him well in his next endeavor. Ash Munshi, CTO, will assume leadership for Y! Labs.

AllThingsD reported that he is moving to Google. He had been working for Yahoo for around seven years now. Before that he was at IBM research.

Google would gain from his experience in the search market. It is not clear what position he is taking at the search engine giant.
