Marissa Mayer recently left Google to join Yahoo as their new CEO. And we are already hearing about changes at the company that could result in it looking a bit like Google.

Latest reports claim that the company would roll out a major visual update on their Yahoo Mail platform. And the new design is expected to be simplistic like Gmail.

Even Microsoft has given up complicated designs on their Hotmail platform to go basic with Outlook.com which follows their Metro design guidelines.

We are expected to see initial rollout of the new Yahoo Mail sometime next month. Yahoo is also expected to launch their new homepage in the coming weeks which is also said to be simpler than current one with fewer ads.
