Zee Dish truHD+ DTH comes with support for external storage media
Zee Dish TV has launched a brand new HD STB model named Dish truHD+.
The company is offering something interesting in this edition. There is no internal storage for recording media.
Instead, they are allowing the user to connect their own pen drives and external hard disks.
This means that the users get the option to add as much storage as they want to their DTH set top boxes.
The concept is good but there are a couple of issues. The biggest hassle of course is the increased prices of hard disks in the market today because of the floods in the South East Asia.
Also, it is not clear how good the overall performance be if the user connects a low performance storage media to the set top box!
The good thing is that the lack of a hard disk enables Zee to price this box competitively at just around Rs. 2700.
