How to hide your IP address

What is the difference between a public and a private IP address?Your public IP is the address your router shows to the internet and is what websites see, while private IPs (like 192.168.x.x) are used only inside your home network. Why does my IP location not match my exact address?IP geolocation is approximate, often resolving to your internet provider hub or city rather than your street, because it maps the provider, not your house. It is useful for a general region but is not a precise locator.

Why do I see both an IPv4 and an IPv6 address?Many connections now support both protocols, so your provider may assign an older 32-bit IPv4 address and a newer IPv6 address at the same time. Sites can reach you on either, which is why both can appear.
