On top of this during their survival, the inevitable romance blossoms between the two lost in space.

Hidden Figures

America during the 60s was a rough place for African-Americans. Besides all the social changes, the free love/hippie movement, the exploration of space and other things, the civil rights movement took a centre and often bloody stage. Hidden Figures is placed between such political upheaval. Three black American woman, working for NASA during the space race break spacial and racial boundaries to ultimately bring everyone together, regardless of their skin colour in this heart-warming portrait of human experience.

Patriots Day

Mark Wahlberg stars in this movie about the Boston bombs which devastated the city during the Boston marathon back in 2013. Wahlberg plays a cop who deals with the harrowing aftermath, as he attempts to track down the culprits responsible for the bombing. Kevin Bacon also stars, and Patriots currently holds a great score of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.

First of all, Casey Affleck won the Oscar for the best leading actor at this year’s Academy Awards for his performance in this movie. Secondly, Manchester By the Sea was also nominated for the best picture. The movie centres upon a young man, played by Affleck, who takes it upon himself to look after a young teenage boy after the death of the boy’s guardians. The relationship between the two that ensues is heartwarming, heartbreaking and altogether worth a watch.

Assassin’s Creed

Assassin’s Creed stars Hollywood movie star, Michael Fassbender in the title role as the main assassin inspired by the video game of the same name, now projected onto the cinematic screen. In regards to the movie, we see Fassbender’s character launched back into the 15^th century to relive his ancestor’s action-packed lifestyle as an assassin. The movie also stars Jeremy Irons, Marrion Cotillard and Brendan Gleeson.
